Requirements for 6th Grade Students

Enrolled in Algebra 1

 

 

Your child is enrolled in Algebra 1 as a 6th grader.  In order for your child to demonstrate success in this advanced math course this school year and qualify to enroll in Geometry next year, your child must meet the following criteria:

 

Earn a 4-quarter GPA of 3.00 or higher in Algebra 1 and score 80% or higher on the end-of-course Algebra 1 Final Exam and score Advanced” on the Grade 6 California Standards Test.

 

 

All 6th grade students enrolled in Algebra 1 who earn a “C+” grade or lower at the end of the first quarter or second quarter will be moved out of Algebra 1 and into

Pre-Algebra.

 

Your child’s math teacher will contact you if your child is performing below the grade standards listed above.
