Requirements for 7th Grade Students

Enrolled in Algebra 1

 

 

Your child is enrolled in Algebra 1 as a 7th grader.  In order for your child to demonstrate success in this advanced math course this school year and qualify to enroll in Geometry next year, your child must meet one of the following two criteria:

 

1.      Earn a 4-quarter GPA of 3.00 or higher in Algebra 1 and score 70% or higher on the end-of-course Algebra 1 Final Exam and score “Proficient” or “Advanced” on the Algebra 1 California Standards Test,

                                                                              OR

2.      Earn a 4-quarter GPA of 2.50 or higher in Algebra 1 and score 80% or higher on the end-of-course Algebra 1 Final Exam and score 400 or higher on the Algebra 1 California Standards Test.

 

 

All 7th grade students enrolled in Algebra 1 who earn a “D+” grade or lower at the end of the first quarter or second quarter will be moved out of Algebra 1 and into

Pre-Algebra.

 

Your child’s math teacher will contact you if your child is performing below the grade standards listed above.
